Welcome to the 9th Annual
Summer Institute!

Southwest Tennessee Community College is proud to present the eighth annual Summer Institute on June 15, 16, and 17. This year's Institute is a joint venture between the Center of Emphasis for Teaching and Technology and the Center for Faculty Development. It is devoted to enhancing learning through shared ideas and practices as well as through the use of current and emerging technology. The Institute consists of presentations, hands-on sessions, and roundtable discussions that address a broad range of topics of interest to all faculty.

Online registration for Summer Institute 2011 is available now until Monday, June 13, due to catering deadlines. If you have registered and need to cancel a registration, please revisit the session on the Schedule of Events and Registration page to unenroll yourself. Late registration will be available in person starting at 8:00 am each day of the Summer Institute. The registration desk will be located in the Media Gallery of the Macon Library. Registration will continue for sessions that have space available.

Summer Institute sessions fall into one of four tracks. Please feel free to sign up for as many tracks as you want or to focus on one track only. The tracks are: 

  1. Center of Emphasis for Teaching and Technology  (Teaching & Technology)
  2. Center for Faculty Development (Teaching & Learning)
  3. Health & Wellness

Getting to the Summer Institute

Summer Institute 2011 takes place on the Macon Cove Campus of Southwest Tennessee Community College.

The Macon Cove Campus External Resourse is located at 5983 Macon Cove, which is convenient to Interstate 40, Exit 12. Registration and continental breakfast will start at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 15th in the Media Gallery, which is located on the first floor of the Bert Bornblum Library. While attending training sessions at the Macon Cove Campus, you can park in the Lot-C External Resourse parking area across from the Bert Bornblum Library or the Lot-B External Resourse parking area across from the Fulton Building.
