Emotional Intelligence

Individuals put a lot of effort into achieving goals in life, personally and professionally.  The pursuit of higher education leads to degrees and many employers require professional development activities.  Engaging in such activities is directly related to career opportunities and professional progress.  However, there is a marker of success that undergirds these efforts towards intellectual prowess and career success that is often overlooked.  This marker falls under the mental health umbrella and is known as emotional intelligence or EQ.  Research has shown that individuals who are highly emotionally intelligent are more likely to succeed in their careers and in leadership roles than persons with low levels of Emotional Intelligence.  Unfortunately, information on understanding emotional intelligence and opportunities to make improvements in this are not regularly promoted or required.

This Emotional Intelligence workshop provides a comprehensive introduction to this essential topic, a facilitated exploration of its influence in multiple aspects of life (personally and professionally), and access to a guided plan for enhancement and application.  Each participant will receive a copy of the book Emotional Intelligence 2.0 by Travis Bradberry and Jean Greaves.  This book includes access to an online assessment of the individual’s emotional intelligence with detailed, personal feedback that will guide the participant on the journey of improving their emotional intelligence beyond the time of the workshop.  It’s time to learn about emotional intelligence and add competencies regarding your EQ to your list of strategies for success.
