Adaptive learning tools like Knewton’s alta courseware provide personalized experiences for learners, but also create unique opportunities for instructor-student engagement, and can be leveraged, alone or in conjunction with campus resources, to support students who struggle to meet learning objectives of curriculum courses. The focus of this workshop is on making the most of adaptive learning through instructional practice and in particular by using data analytics to shape timely and meaningful "micro-interventions" and other interactions with students.
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP LEADER
Dr. Aimee Berger, Knewton's Solutions Architect for the Southeast, is an educator with more than 25 years experience. Her on-campus roles have focused on supporting faculty training and development as well as working directly with students. She also has a background in instructional design, technical training, project management and design thinking.
Utilizing OER content and a sophisticated adaptive engine, Knewton puts achievement within reach for all learners, providing students with tailored recommendations for exactly what to study and educators with analytics to better support each student.
