Faculty and the Implementation of High Impact Practices at Southwest

Over the past two years, Southwest Tennessee Community College has been a leader in developing and implementing High Impact Practices on our campus. Many have seen this in form of the College's Strategic Plan, new faculty evaluation criteria, an increase profile for the office of High Impact Practices and Innovations, and many professional development opportunities. Something that has not been as prominent is the voice of faculty members who have made use of these High Impact Practices in their courses. This session will highlight faculty experiences with HIPs here at Southwest over the past year. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from a panel of faculty members who have implemented HIPs in their courses, the advantages that they have found through their use of HIPs, challenges that they have encountered, and their general thoughts on HIPs in the classroom.
